MIM is ideal for producing highly complex, tight-tolerance parts that are too intricate or cost-prohibitive to machine. The MIM process fuses fine metal powders with a polymer binder to form a moldable feedstock. This material is injected into a mold, then debound and sintered to achieve final density and mechanical properties.
