(APP) has been developing and manufacturing complex net-shape components using metal injection molding (MIM) and 3D metal printing technologies for the medical, industrial and defense industries. Our proprietary technologies, ProtoMIM® and Printalloy® position APP as the first choice for some of the largest original equipment manufacturers (OEM) in the country. We design, engineer and produce metal components that improve the performance of our clients’ medical devices, hand tools, defense, and sporting goods.

Job Characteristics:

  • Develops new ideas, systems and technology, and also analyzes and improves on current standard processes
  • Requires strong analytical and technical abilities and demands fast, but carefully thought-out results
  • Requires strong leadership and control of the work process and intense follow-up
  • A high level of expertise is expected and the ability to spot and correct errors is important
  • Work must be done correctly and quickly, while always focusing on accomplishing the goal
  • Interest and energy focuses primarily on the work at hand, with negligible small talk
  • The broad scope of the job demands a factual, direct and authoritative style of communication
  • Requires swift and well thought out calculated decision-making and risk-taking
  • Requires leading and controlling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Centers on design for manufacturing of OEM client components
  • Work with clients to understand their application and requirements
  • Work with tooling and process engineers and techs to develop and document processes for client’s components
  • Communicate internally and with clients on process development results to obtain acceptance
  • Travel to clients for design reviews, resolving quality issues, and obtaining new business
  • Main objective is to get first article acceptance from client in the least amount of time
  • Design tooling and fixturing to assist process engineering
  • Perform and document design of experiments for product development
  • Supports R&D engineering in translating customer needs to manufacturable product

Requirements:

  • B.S. in engineering or other technical discipline
  • Experience with Injection molding tooling design and part design using solid modeling software
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Minitab
